Ken Monkman is one of my favourite artists. What I enjoy about his work is his ability to create a complex narrative that represents the current issue of Indigenous life in this place currently know as Canada.
Below is currently my favourite of his work. The accompanying video shows his process which again, I find very interesting. Being an x-professional photographer from the early 1980s I can appreciate this process and how he has married it to a more traditional painter's studio.
