My process always starts with a sketch, either pencil or charcoal. It's this tactile experience that opens me up to receive this "gift" from Creator.

Just a rough sketch. I was messing around with a drafting pencil trying to work out some ideas. I usually don't need this much detail when starting a new canvas. But the preliminary sketch allows me to work out some problems I may face on the canvas.
